What I’m Reading + Listening to

Hello! I hope you are having a great week! If you haven’t already you should totally listen to this week’s episode about mental health. My husband is on the podcast and I am so excited for you to hear it!

On this week’s blog post I wanted to share my current favorites!

What I’m listening to

First things first. I’m loving Taylor Swift right now. I am going to her concert this summer. I CANNOT WAIT! So her albums have been on repeat lately. I am also really loving this playlist. It’s a work in progress. I think it's a fun one!

What kind of podcast host would I be if I didn’t also suggest podcasts I love?! I am an Armchair Expert junkie. Their Armchair anonymous episodes crack me up. I love love that they do in depth podcast episodes. I don’t listen to this podcast with littles in the car since it is not for little ears IMO. But it is interesting to me. If you like my podcast, you also may love Emily P Freeman’s podcast. The format of her podcast is similar to mine. She doesn’t really interview anyone. The episodes are usually short and encouraging. I also really love How I Built This by Guy Raz. I recently listened to two episodes that were really inspiring to me. One was the founder of Hinge. His episode shows that you shouldn’t give up and don’t lose hope. There was also an episode with the founder of Patagonia. His business model and leadership are very inspiring.

Another thing I came across recently was a peloton ride. I don’t own a peloton but I frequently do the rides on my stationary bike through their app. One inspiring ride I did was with Tunde. It’s the “Year of Yes Ride” from 2021. It is a quick 20 minute ride and very inspiring.

What I’m Reading

This year has been a year of reading more and I recently read the “Blackout Bookclub” and while I really liked the book, my favorite read so far this year has been “A woman is no Man.” This book was inspiring, sad and hopeful all at the same time. I normally wouldn't go for historical fiction but it was a very good book. I am currently reading “Mad Honey” by Jodi Picoult. I haven’t finished so I can’t say how good it is yet. So far it’s great. The book Happy Place by Emily Henry is on my list to read this summer. I have heard it’s a must! If you have read it, let me know if I should!
